The Seattle CityClub was chosen by the Seattle City Council to host a public forum that will give the community a chance to hear from the eight finalists to fill the vacant position on the Council.
The forum will take place Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 PM. It will be held at Seattle City Hall inside the Bertha Knight Landes Room on the first floor. The forum is also scheduled to be live streamed on Seattle Channel.
People are encouraged to submit questions for the candidate here.
The vacant position was created when former Seattle City Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda resigned from the Council after being elected to the King County Council. The position is one of the two positions on Council that represents the entire city, rather than a specific district.
The Seattle City Council selected eight finalists from a group of 72 qualified applicants during a special meeting on February 12. They are:
- Juan J. Cotto
- Neha Nariya
- Mark Solomon
- Vivian Song
- Steven K. Strand
- Mari Sugiyama
- Linh Thai
- Tanya Woo
Each of the finalists are expected to participate in the forum.
