AMR Threatens City and Workers

Home » AMR Threatens City and Workers

Seattle’s emergency medical technicians (EMTs) working at the for-profit American Medical Response (AMR) have been fighting for decent wages and benefits, and against exploitative working conditions. My office, the EMTs, their union Teamsters Local 763, and others in the labor movement forced the City Council to pass a resolution to hold AMR accountable.

But rather than offer the workers decent wages, AMR distributed a letter to the workers threatening that it will pull out emergency services if the members of the Teamsters Local 763 do not accept the latest substandard collective bargaining agreement proposed by the company, which offers the workers at least two dollars below the prevailing wage.
