Seattle City Council approves arena legislation

The Council voted 6-2 today to approve a revised agreement with private investor Chris Hansen for a new sports and entertainment arena. The final version of the bill includes technical amendments discussed over the past ten days with the King County Council.

As part of the Mayor’s upcoming 2013-14 budget proposal, Mayor McGinn recently announced his proposal to transfer the operations and programming of the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center (LHPAC) to the City’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs (OACA) from the Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR).
