Seattle City Councilmember Morales statement on arrests connected to home invasion robberies

Seattle City Councilmember Tammy J. Morales speaks with the members of the Social Housing Developer Board for the first time at Seattle City Hall.

Seattle City Councilmember Tammy J. Morales (District 2 – South Seattle) released the following statement in response to news that Seattle police have arrested five accused of being linked to a series of home invasion robberies in South Seattle:

“I hope that this news brings some peace of mind to the elders in our community and that we can focus our efforts on ensuring this never happens again.

Over the past few months, I have been working with the Seattle Police Department and community groups to coordinate safety trainings across District 2. My office still intends to continue this work to, among other things, ensure our community has all the resources they need to navigate calling 911 in their chosen languages.

Our communities are safer when we look out for each other. I also look forward to working with my Council colleagues to fund community safety solutions during our upcoming budget discussions,” said Councilmember Morales.
