Home » Council Land Use Committee to Hold Public Hearing on 2035 Comprehensive Plan

The Council’s Planning, Land Use & Zoning Committee, chaired by Councilmember Rob Johnson (District 4, Northeast Seattle), will hold a public hearing this Thursday to take comments on the proposed 2035 Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is the document that outlines how the City will accommodate growth and manage development over the next 20 years.

Council is considering several amendments to the proposed plan, including increased protection and preservation of historic and cultural assets, a new chapter relating to public engagement and community involvement, and amending growth projections based on a neighborhood’s access to opportunity and risk of displacement.  Proposed amendments and a link to the legislation is available here.

This hearing will provide a forum for elected officials to hear directly from the public on the proposed plan. The comments from the public hearing will help inform the Council’s Planning, Land Use & Zoning Committee’s vote on the proposal.

Sign-up sheets for public comment will be available Thursday at 1:45 p.m.  Members of public are also welcome to send written comments to Councilmembers, via rob.johnson@seattle.gov or PO Box 34025 Seattle, WA 98124-4025.
