The City Council will hold its second budget public hearing on Thursday, October 23 at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall at 4th and James. The sign-in sheet will be posted at 4:30 p.m. Additional details are listed on the official notice.
The Council will begin Issue Identification on Wednesday, October 22. In Issue Identification the Council discusses department budgets in depth, and identifies specific issues that Councilmembers might want to address. Agendas will be listed two days in advance on the Budget Committee agenda page. Presentations will be listed the morning of the meeting.
I’ve introduced a new format for public comment during Budget Committee meetings. Public comment will be taken at the beginning of both the 9:30 a.m. session, and the 2 p.m. session, for 10 minutes each. Previously, public comment was taken for 20 minutes only at the 9:30 a.m. session.
