The Seattle City Council Budget Committee will conduct two public hearings at the Garfield Community Center on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 to solicit public comment on: (1) the City’s 2015 General Revenue Sources, including a possible property tax levy increase, and (2) Mayor Ed Murray’s Proposed 2015-2016 Budget.  

  •  The first hearing will begin at 5:30 PM and will cover the City’s 2015 General Revenue Sources, including a possible property tax levy increase.
  • The second hearing will commence immediately after the first hearing (which could begin as early as 5:35 PM).  Public comments will be received on the Mayor’s Proposed 2015-2016 Budget. The second hearing will continue until all in-person comments have been received.

In the interest of time, members of groups with similar interests are encouraged to combine their presentations. Group presentations will be limited to five (5) minutes. Individual comments will be limited to two (2) minutes or less.

Those wishing to provide public comment must sign-up on sheets provided outside the entry of the Commons Area beginning at 4:30 PM, but no later than 5:00 PM. The Budget Committee hearing will be cablecast live on Seattle Channel 21 and webcast live at http://www.seattle.gov/council/councillive.htm.

The Mayor’s 2015-2016 Proposed Budget and accompanying 2015-2020 Proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) will be available online at http://www.seattle.gov/financedepartment. A paper copy of the Proposed Budget and CIP are available at the Central Library. To purchase a printed copy of the Proposed Budget or CIP, please contact Zebra Printing at (206) 223-1955.
