Last week, I had the pleasure of presenting a City Proclamation to long-time Seattle street musician Jim Page.

Jim Page serenades City Council at 1974 vote on allowing street muscians in Seattle.

The Proclamation was in recognition of the City’s 1974 Ordinance allowing, for the first time, street musicians to accept donations when performing on public property. It also proclaimed the week of September 8th to be the official Busker Week for this year. Former King County Executive and Seattle City Councilmember Randy Revelle appeared with Jim to accept the Proclamation. Councilmember Revelle was the original sponsor of the street musician Ordinance.

Check out this video recording of the presentation during the Sep. 8th Full Council meeting.
