Councilmembers to participate in Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events

SEATTLE – Councilmembers will participate in two events recognizing and celebrating the life and values of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Councilmembers Tim Burgess, Sally Bagshaw, Sally Clark, Jean Godden, and Bruce Harrell will attend the 40th Annual MLK Jr. Celebration at Mt. Zion Baptist Church to commemorate the life of Dr. King and reinforce Dr. King’s message of tolerance and inclusion. Councilmembers Bruce Harrell, Mike O’Brien, and Kshama Sawant will participate in the 32nd Annual MLK Jr. March, walking with the $15/hour minimum wage contingent.

Both events are free and open to the public.
