After taking input from residents around the city, the Council’s Budget Committee recommended late yesterday a City budget package for 2014. We prioritized funding for enhanced public safety and improved management of the Police Department, early education services for our children, and moving our homeless neighbors off the streets.

The fall is always our busiest time of year, with all nine councilmembers focused almost exclusively on reviewing the Mayor’s budget proposal. The budget will go to the Full Council for final approval this coming Monday.

You can find a press release detailing the top priorities of the Council’s budget actions here.
