The Seattle City Council presented Robin Gueverra with a Certificate of Thanks for her 38 years volunteering for the School Traffic Safety Committee which has existed – since 1975.
The Committee was established in 1975 to improve traffic safety for all of Seattle’s school children. The active coordination of school, transportation, and traffic enforcement professionals plays an important role in the review and analysis of school traffic safety concerns. Active involvement by parents, and of the bicycle and pedestrian advocates, in advising schools and local agencies was helpful to ensuring thorough and thoughtful consideration of school traffic safety concerns. Partly because of the good work of this committee, Seattle created a Safe Routes to School program to promote school traffic safety and encourage walking and biking to school
We on the City Council applaud the dedication and commitment that Robin has provided over the last 38 years
