Seattle City Council President Richard Conlin statement on failed recall attempt

Seattle – Seattle City Council President Richard Conlin released the following statement today following Superior Court Judge Carol Schapira’s dismissal of a petition to recall him:

“We are fortunate to live in a political system defined by the Constitution and protected from manipulation by individual agendas. I recognize that my constituents may not agree with my actions on a particular issue – indeed, disagreement is one of the hallmarks of a robust democracy. However, disagreement over a policy issue is not grounds for removal from office. The Court’s decision today confirms the rule of law.

“I am honored to serve the people of Seattle and I will continue to do so with humility and integrity.”
