After a couple months of work, we’re very excited about publishing our first law review article entitled – Seattle’s Green Building Initiative and Housing Retrofits: How Seattle Can Overcome the Obstacles That Face Effective Energy Conservation in the Building Sector.

Seattle’s Green Building Initiative and Housing Retrofits: How Seattle Can Overcome the Obstacles That Face Effective Energy Conservation in the Building Sector

It is co-authored by my aide, Sahar Fathi, and myself.  It talks about the social justice impacts of our energy policy, and specifically addresses how Seattle City Light and other utilities in Washington State can use their authority to improve the energy efficiency of residents and businesses and create family wage jobs at the same time.  It also addresses some of the legal challenges that would need to be overcome to make such programs even more robust and bring them to scale in all communities.

Please take a few minutes to read it and let me know what you think.
