A week from today, renters will be able search for properties on HousingSearchNW.org online 24 hours a day. The website HousingSearchNW.org not only offers free searching for renters but also free advertising of property for landlords.  Don’t have a computer?  You’ll be able to call a toll‐free, call center for assistance: 1‐877‐428‐8844, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.  Because the site is currently working to get the site populated, if you have a rental property to list, you can do so now either at the website or by calling the toll-free number.

Interpretation in a number of languages will be available.   The site will also provide helpful tools for renters like a rent checklists and affordability calculators.  Finally, case managers, social service agencies and others interested in helping clients search for affordable housing in Seattle and King County will be able to receive training on how to use this resource. If you are interested, you can contact Crystal Kirby at crystal@socialserve.com.

This is a joint project cosponsored by the City ‘s Office of Housing, King County, the Seattle Housing Authority, the King County Housing Authority and the United Way.  A Steering Committee – includes these organizations plus the Rental Housing Association of Puget Sound and the Tenants Union – provides oversight for the program.
