Council committee to discuss police body camera pilot project
Seattle Police Department responds to Council directives

SeattleThe Energy, Technology and Civil Rights Committee, chaired by Councilmember Bruce Harrell, will host a special discussion on the proposal to outfit Seattle Police Officers with body cameras. Several community leaders and proponents of camera technology are expected to express their support for deployment of this technology.

The discussion will focus on the Seattle Police Department’s response to the Council directive to pursue federal grant money to fund a significant pilot project and the findings of an in-house body camera trial conducted by the department earlier this year.
