Councilmember Kshama Sawant will deliver a Socialist response to President Trump’s address to a joint session of congress this evening in Seattle City Hall. Seattleites are encouraged to attend and join with Socialist Alternative, Socialist Students and fellow activists to hear a socialist response to Trump’s right wing agenda and, afterwards, to discuss opportunities build a movement powerful enough to defeat Trump and the Billionaire Class.
Councilmember Sawant said, “In the last month, the Trump administration has launched an all-out attack on Muslims, immigrants, refugees, the LGBTQ community, and working people as a whole. At the same time, the new administration has been greeted by an unprecedented wave of protests and mass civil disobedience determined to stop his right-wing agenda. Join me tonight to discuss how we can continue building a non-violent, combative movement to defeat Trump.”

After Sawant’s speech, attendees will gather to discuss opportunities and methods to build a movement to defeat the Trump agenda.
