Councilmember Tim Burgess (Citywide) released the following statement on the passage of the Seattle Housing Levy (Proposition 1):
“Seattle voters today put their money where their hearts are, compassionately investing their hard-earned money to help our most vulnerable neighbors. The Seattle Housing Levy is an essential part of a holistic response to addressing the affordability crisis in Seattle, and I can’t thank our voters enough for their commitment to making Seattle a city for everyone.
“Seattle has had a Housing Levy for the past 35 years, and every single one of those levies has either met or exceeded its goals. I’m confident that this levy will do the same and build on three decades worth of successful investments in affordable housing in our city.”
