“Few things counterpose the greed of multinational corporations to the interests of workers, the environment, and democracy as sharply as trade deals like NAFTA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership.” – Councilmember Kshama Sawant

Yesterday the Seattle City Council unanimously passed a resolution I co-sponsored opposing the TPP and Trade Promotion Authority, more commonly known as “fast track.” Thank you to Councilmember Mike O’Brien’s office and all of the environmental activists, labor unions and social justice organizations that have brought to light what big business always intended to be a secret trade treaty.
