Relating to the 2012 Seattle Fire Code; as adopted by Chapter 22.600.020 of the Seattle Municipal Code; amending and adding various provisions to that Fire Code all as regulated and allowed by the State Building Code Act, Chapter 19.2 7 of the Revised Code of Washington.

SEATTLE PUBLIC UTILITIES AND NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE:

Relating to Seattle Public Utilities; prohibiting food waste and compostable paper from disposal as garbage; and amending Sections 21.36.082, 21.36.083 and 21.36.922 of the Seattle Municipal Code.

Authorizing Seattle Public Utilities to enter into an Easement Agreement with the Port of Seattle for the construction, operation, maintenance and monitoring of City-owned stormwater drainage facilities including an outfall pipeline at the Terminal-117 cleanup site on the Lower Duwamish Waterway.

Concerning the use of neonicotinoid pesticides by the City of Seattle; supporting a national moratorium on neonicotinoids, urging the White House Task Force on Pollinator Health to recommend such a moratorium, urging the US Environmental Protection Agency to institute such a moratorium, and urging the US Congress to revive legislation to enact such a moratorium; and urging retailers operating within the City of Seattle to ensure that no plants, seeds or products containing neonicotinoids are offered for sale. 

 

PARKS, SEATTLE CENTER, AND GENDER PAY EQUITY COMMITTEE:

Relating to Discovery Park; authorizing the execution of Lot Boundary Adjustment 3012031; authorizing the exchange of property and property interests in and adjacent to Discovery Park to complete the Lot Boundary Adjustment; finding, after a public hearing, that the exchange of property and property interests meets the requirements of Ordinance 118477, which adopted initiative 42; authorizing the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation to negotiate and enter into agreements to exchange restrictive use covenants from the property to be transferred by the City of Seattle to the property to be transferred to the City of Seattle; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

Relating to City employment commonly referred to as the Second Quarter 2014 Employment Ordinance; establishing a Magistrate Compensation Program for Magistrates in the Seattle Municipal Court, designating positions as exempt from Civil Service status, returning positions to Civil Service status, amending Seattle Municipal Code Section 4.13.010, authorizing the Mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Seattle/Seattle City Employees’ Retirement System and the Professional and Technical Employees, Local 17, and ratifying and confirming prior acts; and all by a 2/3 vote of the City Council.
