Council to discuss confirmation of Seattle’s Chief Technology Officer

SeattleCouncilmember Bruce Harrell will convene a Public Safety, Civil Rights, and Technology committee meeting this Wednesday to begin consideration of the appointment of Michael Mattmiller as Chief Technology Officer and Director of the Seattle Department of Information Technology. Mattmiller’s appointment is subject to Council confirmation.

The Department of Information Technology has about 200 employees and an annual budget of $41.8 million. The department is responsible for providing technology services and policy planning to City departments and managing the City’s technology infrastructure to serve Seattle’s residents and businesses.

Mattmiller will provide introductory remarks and speak on his background and experience, followed by an initial round of questions from Councilmembers.
