Call for Films

An item on my City Council Committee agenda once each month, titled “Film Forum,” invites film makers to screen a short excerpt of their films. I do this because I believe cinema and the stories it tells can provide a valuable lens through which to address some of the issues facing our community as well as City policy makers.

Seattle is lucky to have the Northwest Film Forum, a local film center that promotes film not just as entertainment, but as being relevant to our daily lives.Shooting_245_feature

The Forum is currently seeking new work to screen in Seattle.

They’re searching for your most excellent new feature, documentary, short, music video, and more, for their two major annual film festivals: Local Sightings and Children’s Film Festival Seattle.

Have you recently completed a new film you’d like to screen in Seattle? Do you know talented filmmakers in Ballard or Buenos Aires who deserve to have their work seen?

Check out this page on Northwest Film Forum’s website for information on how to submit your film to be considered for exhibition.

The deadline for submitting to Local Sightings in June 30th. The deadline for submitting to Children’s Film Festival Seattle is October 1st.
