Councilmember Burgess’ statement on final passage of 2014 budget

SEATTLE – City Councilmember Tim Burgess, chair of the Council’s Budget Committee, issued the following statement today after the Full Council voted unanimously to approve the 2014 City budget:

“The budget passed today by the Full Council improves public safety, supports early learning opportunities for our children and provides more housing opportunities to homeless youth and families. I am grateful to every member of the public who shared input to the Council and to the dedicated work of countless City staff who provided us valuable analysis. By sharpening our focus on funding programs that have been proven to work, this budget establishes a solid foundation for the future of City government.”
